Lindy Saner

has 15+ years of experience in the world of Learning and Development. The last 13 of those years have been spent working at Total Quality Logistics where she fills the role of Senior L&D Manager. During her time with the company, the focus of the department transitioned from instructor led training and on the job coaching to exclusively online learning. Not only was this a huge change for the team, but it required a major culture shift for the company in order to be successful. This shift from instructor-led to online training wasn’t a one-time fix. As TQL grows, Lindy continues to find new ways to engage learners through online learning and work with sales leaders to fill the gap. When she isn’t supporting her team at work, she can be found “glamping” with family and friends.


How did you get started in your field?
After I graduated with my undergrad in Psychology, I started a job in retail. Jewelry sales to be exact. I knew I wanted to continue my education, but I wasn’t sure what path to take. One day, an amazing trainer came in to the store to do some on-the-job coaching with our team. As she sat with me, I realized that I wanted her job. She was able to spend 15 minutes with me and make me feel more comfortable in my role than months of shadowing and learning from the team. I decided that day to enroll in the wonderful HRD program at Xavier and have never looked back.

What 3 words describe you best, personally or professionally?
A supportive and resourceful, problem-solver.

What is a piece of advice you would share with emerging professionals?
Always remember mistakes happen and sometimes failure is inevitable. The important thing is how you handle those times. There is no point in dwelling on the what-ifs. Find a solution and a way to learn from them and move forward.

What excites you most about the topic you will be sharing at the conference?
It is without a doubt my biggest professional accomplishment. Transitioning our program from solely ILT to all on-line learning was a feat that the amazing team I have the pleasure of working with conquered in an insanely short amount of time. We continue to enhance and redevelop each course as needed, with the future plans of the company in mind.
