This past February, we held a well-attended session on the topic, The Intersection of Neuroscience and Learning, where we seemed to just scratch the surface on this expansive, emerging topic. So this month, as a follow-up, we’ve planned a ‘Part 2’!  . . . The topic was so interesting that we all agreed it warranted additional exploration by our Forum.

Jennifer Pope MooreTo help us dig deeper, we have invited Jennifer Pope Moore to join us. She has attained a graduate certificate in the neuroscience of leadership, and has significant experience incorporating neuroscience research into her professional practice.

She has graciously agreed to help guide our discussion and to share some of her knowledge about brain-based learning and teaching. Whether you are knowledgeable of neuroscience strategies as applied to teaching & learning or consider yourself a novice, you are invited to join the conversation and share your questions and/or thoughts about this most interesting topic.

Some questions we’ll consider:

  • What can we learn about learning from the field of neuroscience?
  • How can we leverage these research findings into our teaching strategies?
  • What, if any, experiences have we had with incorporating brain-based research into how we approach our work as Learning Leaders?

Our open forum format is built on the practice of mutual learning and the collective genius that emerges from sharing our questions, comments and experiences with our Learning Leader peers in an informal setting. We invite you to add your voice to the conversation.

PREWORK: Below are links to two short articles (ALSO SHARED IN FEBRUARY) that will serve to prime the pump for our discussion.

You are encouraged to bring additional resources related to the topic that may be of interest to the group. We look forward to seeing you there!
