Consultants SIG: I Provided Great Content but Nothing Changed – Now What?

Continuing our series of topics that hold a mirror up to ourselves, we delve this month into follow-up. 

Since the goal with nearly all interventions is behavior change, how do we determine whether a) anything changed and b) whether the changes can be traced to our intervention? 

This is an especially difficult question for external consultants who do not have regular access to the participants or their managers. To what extent can we “guarantee” results – and should we? If nothing changed, what can reasonably be expected to happen next?
