Learning Leaders SIG: Designing Experiential Learning

Kim Lamoureau, Deloitte VP, Leadership & Succession Research wrote, “At the start of every sports season players participate in intensive training to practice skills and perfect plays. But it isn’t until the teams actually “scrimmage” that the coaches can see the talent of each player. … Likewise, in the corporate world, leaders and employees participate in training events. Whether attending a workshop, completing an online course, participating in an assessment, or receiving coaching, (they) are preparing themselves for the real world. Those organizations that offer experiential learning are, in a sense, testing and evaluating their (people)in real-time – a workplace scrimmage.”

This month we will be participating in some sample Experiential Learning activities! Join us to continue the sharing and fun from last month’s Facilitator Potluck, as we discuss additional ways our organizations can practice inspiring collective functioning and accomplishing their goals of applying learning, developing talent and executing company strategies.
