This month's meeting is based on the premise that training actions often begin with an issue seen in business data, such as: “Why is our customer satisfaction number lower this quarter?", the typical management response is often: “Training Department! Create a class on customer service!”

To be a good business partner, competent practitioners need to be savvy about what systems, processes or procedures measure their programs’ impact and how to define and share this relationship.

Employing a Performance Model strategy and case studies, Dawn will lead the discussion on

  • linking training activities and performance outcomes to performance data
  • reviewing how to create a Performance Model
  • explaining various data gathering methods, and
  • guiding a table activity utilizing the Performance Model.

Handouts will include slides, example Performance Models, a performance questionnaire, activity directions and questions.
