Hello Fellow GCATD Members!

Do you want to take your career to the next level or learn about a different area of talent development? As the VP of the Professional Development Committee (PDC) for this great chapter, I’m excited to announce changes to our programming for 2016 in order to assist you in these areas.

Based on feedback from our members and brainstorming sessions with our leadership team and Special Interest Group (SIG) Leaders, we will focus on 3 themes this year. This will allow us to offer some basic informational sessions and then take a deeper dive into some topics by offering other formats for learning and sharing. More

GCATD hosted its first learning event of the year on January 21, 2016!

Robert “Jake” Jacobs facilitated a workshop titled The Secret to Achieving Fast and Lasting Results in Whatever Change Work You’re Doing. He presented the principles of Real Time Strategic Change that can be applied to replace “either/or” thinking with a “both/and” point of view to achieve a competitive advantage. Participants were encouraged to bring a change project to work on in the session.

Jake offered 6 principles to help leverage continuity of what’s working while capitalizing on new opportunities for transformation. One participant commented that the session was “a great use of real-life examples: his, then ours.” Feedback about ideas generated during the session included “It definitely got me thinking about change.” More
