GCATD: Come Join the Conversation!
Spring is in the air and it is a great time for renewal and growth! From a professional growth perspective, GCATD offers a variety of venues for each of us to connect and collaborate with talent development professionals while also contributing great insight to the growth of others.
Over the last three years, I have benefited personally by connecting with some of the most talented and inspiring folks around through my involvement with the chapter. With quality GCATD programming, complemented by the wealth of online resources via my national ATD membership, I continue to build my own expertise so that I can be of value to those that I serve in my workplace. I hope that many of you have benefited from your affiliation with the chapter as well! More

Ready, Shoot, Aim...The Importance of Organizational Diagnosis
There is a bias for action when it comes to addressing complex organizational issues often resulting in a mindset of ‘ready, fire, aim’. This can mean that we solve symptoms instead of uncovering and addressing the underlying causes of common issues affecting retention, leadership, productivity, morale, teamwork, etc. To ensure we are not merely solving symptoms but getting to the heart of the issues that organizations face, we must become effective at organizational diagnosis.
Facilitated by Dr. Deb O'Neil, she has over 25 years experience in management, leadership and organization development. She is actively engaged in both the academic and the business worlds as a professor, executive coach and organizational consultant. More

On March 1st GCATD hosted a second learning event on the topic of Organizational Change Management (OCM). Sarah Sontheimer, Senior Change Management Consultant at Nationwide Insurance, presented a case study of a large scale change effort she led to implement new Customer Relationship Management software.
Sarah led an engaging discussion of how she applied Prosci’s change management methodology to help leaders, managers and employees understand and effectively demonstrate their role in change.
