Dayton Group Comes Together to Create a "Spirit Spiral"

On March 11th, we had the opportunity to share ideas and actively participate in a session provided by Jackie Smith and Abel Hernandez from CareSource University.
During the session, we developed a team spirit spiral and discussed how the tool can be used to positively impact an organization.

The UD Center for Leadership was the perfect place to come together and share a breakfast and ideas with the leaders of talent development in the Dayton area. More

Learning Leaders Beth Robinson and Kim Elliott "Pass On The Baton"

Beth Robinson with Hixson Inc. (far left) and Kim Elliott with Macy's have been co-leading the Learning Leaders SIG for three years, with great success! 

While that success will soon turn into succession as they “pass on the baton" to a new team of volunteers leaders, they led another rousing session of the SIG in March, with a Facilitation Best Practices Potluck. 

As Beth notes, "There was a great turnout at the SIG, and even better sharing of experiences, tips, and activities that have proven to be effective in facilitating learning. Not only were exercises shared in the session, but the conversation during the gathering also sparked other ideas that members offered to forward after the meeting.” More

As a Training Manager, for nearly six years, I had years of professional sales experience, but I had little formal education in teaching adults and designing learning programs.

I relied on reading books and my gut instincts. This was working for me. I had success. However, I wanted better results and to make a greater impact on the organization that I serve. Within my role, I provide training, education and performance coaching to more than 500 people. The people I train, typically move into other roles within other operating companies within 18 to 24 months of being hired. I value being a recruiting center for these operating companies. By improving our classes, coaching and performance recommendations, our results will provide a greater financial impact to the organization and set the foundation for our new hires to continue their professional development. More
