What’s in a name? An “instructional designer” at one organization might not do instructional design quite the same way as someone at another organization, depending on how the role has been defined. How do you define “instructional design”? Do you focus more on learning theory or more on building things in an authoring tool? What’s your sweet spot and where are your gaps?
The webinar is facilitated by Cammy Bean, Solutions Consultant with Kineo, a global organization provider of learning solutions. She has been designing eLearning programs for a wide variety of clients since the mid-1990s. More
We had a great session last month learning more about conflict. The biggest take away, for me, as the convener, is that conflict is rarely about the situation, conflict is about our reaction to it. How we help clients understand their triggers about the situation and coaching them through it is the key.
This month's SIG is open for sharing challenges and best practices. We may continue the conversation around coaching through conflict or bring your current or ongoing challenge to the group to gain a fresh perspective and perhaps solutions you may not have thought of. If you have learned something new that you can't wait to share with us, bring that too! More
Note that the Coaching SIG meeting day / time is changing. Beginning in July, they meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month.
Have You Noticed The Change?
Greetings GCATD members! We always strive to improve and enhance your GCATD experience. Part of that experience includes our communication with you. We listened, and are improving the way we communicate with you. In an effort to create a more streamlined approach, we will now be sending our monthly newsletter to you on the first Tuesday of the month. We will send additional news and updates on ensuing Tuesdays (the exception may be when we update you about programs, SIGs and events dates).
Like up-to-the-minute GCATD news however? I invite you to share trends, articles, best practices and even seek the wisdom of your colleagues on our social media sites: LinkedIn (nearing 1000 members!), Twitter and Facebook.
I invite additional ideas or comments about how we can improve! Elaine Suess, VP Communications. firstname.lastname@example.org.
