Appreciating The Value of Your Chapter Membership in 2016

As the leader of this association, I’d like to take a moment and provide you with a mid-year report and thank our many volunteers who make the learning and networking happen. We’ll begin with a quote from Michele Miller, VP of Professional Development, sharing why she invests her time and talent in our organization.

“The work that we are doing in the GCATD Professional Development Committee has been very fulfilling for me. Our goal is to provide variety, be thoughtful, strategic and aligned with ATD. I believe we are well on our way. Considering that I joined GCATD for my own professional development, who would have thought that I could meet and work with great people, assist with their development and my own all at the same time? What a great organization! Looking forward to the remainder of the year and planning for 2017.” More

'Shades of Instructional Design' Webinar Concludes 2nd Quarter Learning Topics

On Wednesday, June 15, 2015, GCATD hosted the Shades of Instructional Design Lunch and Learn Webinar featuring Cammy Bean, author of The Accidental Instructional Designer. This webinar marked the conclusion of our second quarter topics: Performance Consulting, Learning Analysis and Instructional Design.

Cammy began the webinar by informing us that most us of who have instructional design responsibilities have different titles and “are here by accident.” Unfortunately this job is not one we grow up saying that WE want to be. This is what she refers to as the shades of instructional design. More
