Cammy Bean What’s in a name? An “instructional designer” at one organization might not do instructional design quite the same way as someone at another organization, depending on how the role has been defined. How do you define “instructional design”? Do you focus more on learning theory or more on building things in an authoring tool? What’s your sweet spot and where are your gaps?

In this session, you’ll look at four key areas that eLearning professionals should focus on to develop a well-rounded practice and perspective about the work that you do. You’ll also drill down into a solid learning model that you can apply to many of the eLearning programs you design, while also keeping any eye out for some of the things to avoid.

In this session, you will learn:

  • Four key areas on which to focus your instructional design practice
  • A solid learning model to apply to a typical eLearning course
  • How to avoid “clicky-clicky bling-bling”
