In 2026, the GCATD Organizational Development (OD) Special Interest Group is excited to bring you the Global OD Competency Framework series. This internationally recognized framework outlines the core knowledge, skills, and behaviors that define effective OD professionals and provides a common language for the practice of organization development.

This meeting kicks off our Global OD Competency Framework series taking a closer look at the Systems Change Expert core competency. This competency focuses on the ability to understand and influence the whole organization as an interconnected system. Practitioners skilled in this competency lead and guide complex organizational changes, foster environments where culture and engagement thrive, and champion innovation that drives transformation. You’ll explore how to diagnose systemic issues, design strategic change initiatives, and build organizational cultures that are resilient and adaptive.
