Dreaded Checklists

    Hello,

We use checklists for part of our onboarding training of new hires. We have designated "trainers" in certain departments that utilize a department specific checklist of tasks and important items we want to reinforce. We are transitioning these to essentially be a shared word doc that the applicable parties access and "sign" as items are reviewed and understood. We give them various time frames based on the roles training. At the end when the checklists are complete we send out surveys to the new hires and the supervisors to see how the training was received and if the checklists were useful. We have seen a positive trend about the utilization of the checklist.

Hopefully this helps shed some light on your request.

In my customer service oriented company, we use checklists to help ensure new managers remember to complete a wide array of essential tasks during their workdays. They are a necessary evil for us that I would love to improve for my teams. What are the best ways to use checklists, or something similar, that you have seen or experienced? We are very willing to introduce technology or change procedures to give the teams a more effective method of keeping track. Any help is very much appreciated!
